Separated by decades and sweeping changes in technology, a great-granddaughter revisits the photographs made by her grandfather, Charles Ellis Johnson and makes contemporary images of the views he photographed in and around Salt Lake City, Utah in the late 1800's and early 1900's. This website presents a few of those paired images. In addition, views of contemporary Salt Lake City are presented, as downtown construction is radically changing the urbanscape yet again.
